Occasionally we feel the need to chime in about commercials we love – because the art of greatness in 30 seconds gives us reason to pause and try to incorporate those thought processes into our daily routines.
In no particular order:
1) Progresso Soup – Sometimes in a commercial, it’s more about the reactions to what’s happening than what’s actually happening. In this one, the guy plans to ask the lady to marry him, but she’s excited about the “big piece of potato” in her soup. Their reactions to one another are CLASSIC!
2) Hallmark – This one is a tearjerker. Daddy serving overseas, child reading the Peanuts Classic book with mom helping in the background. The actor playing the father actually tears up…it’s a good one, grab the tissues.
3) Modern Warfare 3 – Showing the meaner side now – this video game commercial actually “puts you into” the game, using 2 hollywood gamers for the ad, and calling the next person to enter a “nube” which is only funny to other gamers who understand the lingo.
4) Chevrolet – If you haven’t seen their latest line of commercials – you’ve gotta treat yourself here. The actors reactions are exatly what we’re talking about, Santa – or someone that looks very much like him – is working at your local Chevy dealer, and shoppers responses are priceless.
5) World of Warcraft – Along the same vain as Modern Warfare 3, WoW uses the well known Chuck Norris commentary from their players (Chuck Norris doesn’t do push ups, when he pushes, the earth moves downward) to grab attention in this great schtick commercial.
