Apps are quickly becoming the next “hot” thing in technology – so much so that our very own blog title gives homage to the infamous “there’s an app for that” popular phrasing. At AAF Savannah’s presentation last year about QR Codes and where they were going, we knew this was only the beginning.
Congratulations to our partners-in-marketing-crime HeidelDesign, Smack Dab Studios, and Tour Buddy for their expertise in creating and launching the Savannah apps for tours and events. Brilliant ideas all – and a great edition to any smart phone for sure.
To back up for any non-techy followers — a phone app is a feature that allows your cellphone to run applications based on platforms such as Java or ME – typically a smartphone allows the user to install and run more advanced applications (app being short for application). Applications (or apps) are pieces of software can run on the internet, on your computer, or on other electronic devices.
Almost the replacement for googling something – the new apps can create, invent, give you information directly what you need and where you need it. While some apps are more about playing games and killing time, a number of the apps available now are things we use every day, even in conversation – groupon, foursquare, and siri assistant.
